Well, after all this time we have here the final version of Thunderbird 3, which really works quite well.

The point is that with version 2 was using two extensions that seem essential to minimize TB to a tray of Windows, and another to set a password for access to the profile (we will not discuss whether the mechanism is strong enough), that with the rise stopped version work.
